Vocaloids

Posted by MattTheParanoidKat - January 8th, 2010

Okay, I believe I have spent a little too much time away from Newgrounds and been hanging around a few too many animefags but I have started taken a liking to Vocaloids. I really don't know how it came about, I guess it had to do with someone linking me Love Is War and well, I guess one song leads to the next. That and I already have alot of J-Pop.

Anyway, a Vocaloid is a computer synthsized voice program developed by Yamaha. Each voice has it's own particular character representative of their voices you could say.

Now, I initially had pessimism because I was informed that vocaloids were stupid. So I stayed away, but I then discovered that they're neat. The whole character premise on a music program is neat and it's a nice use of technology. Plus, the songs are often good if only because Japan is insane and produces these songs in numbers. Thanks Nico Nico Douga. So, some songs.

Search for 'The World is Mine' i think it is. Great vocaloid song IMO.

That's by the same guys who did "Love is War". Supercell. Now they're famous and are doing stuff for anime.

You probably didn't know this already, but I have a vast collection of Vocaloid music.
My personal favorites so far are doriko's "Yuuhi Saka (Sunset Hill)", minato (RyuuseiP)'s "magnet", "Dear cocoa girls" from the game "Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA" (written by Satoru Kousaki of anime composition fame) and "Koi suru VOC@LOID" by the OSTER project (and this barely scratches the surface).
If you want any more recommendations or suggestions, you can always PM me.

oh hey I remember you used to go on teh NG paltalk room. WOW that seems ages ago

Well, there was a reason I left. Too many stupid gibbering idiots there talking about the same unfunny shit over and over again. I personally don't remember you though.
